The Chadron State College Art Department is an active, interdisciplinary community that provides many opportunities for you to push the limits of your creative talents. At CSC, you won’t be limited to a narrow field. Every art major completes a comprehensive set of experiences that include studio work, the study of art history, workshops, field trips, exhibitions and more. Classes involve a lot of hands-on work and you will get experience with both traditional media and electronic technology.

The strong creative foundation you develop while studying at Chadron State College will serve you well after graduation. Past graduates have successfully pursued careers as art educators, professional artists and graphic designers. If you decide to continue your studies at a graduate level, an art degree from Chadron State College will provide you with the background needed to apply for admission at master’s programs across the country.

Technology improvements continue to fuel the need for graphic designers, and CSC’s large graphic arts program has all you need to begin a career in that exciting field. In addition, CSC turns out a wealth of excellent art teachers who have little trouble finding jobs. The demand for art teachers remains high, as school districts maintain a strong emphasis in the arts.

Art students at Chadron State experience both two-dimensional and three-dimensional media, including glassblowing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, figure drawing and art history.

Those enrolled in the art program at Chadron State College will work in the newly renovated Memorial Hall, a state-of-the-art facility which also houses CSC’s theater and music programs.

The Art Department faculty invites you to pursue your visual arts education as a member of the art program. If you’re willing to work hard enough to be an artist, we’ll provide an academic environment where you can be successful.
