Who Is Eligible to Receive a Joys & Sorrows Card?

The Joys & Sorrows Committee of the Staff Senate sends cards to staff employees of Chadron State College (excluding faculty) to recognize significant joys and sorrows in their lives. Cards will be sent through inter-campus mail.

Joys may include occasions such as marriages, births or adoptions of children or grandchildren, graduations, retirements, professional accomplishments, and other significant milestones.

Sorrows may include the death of a loved one or significant illness or injury requiring a get-well card.

Cards may be sent in recognition of events involving the employee or members of their immediate and extended family, including spouses, children and stepchildren, parents and stepparents, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, and corresponding in-laws (such as parents, siblings, and grandparents of a spouse).

The intent is to recognize significant life events involving the employee and their immediate family and close family relationships.
