PK-6 Physical Education Subject Endorsement

A PK-6 Physical Education Endorsement prepares educators to teach developmentally appropriate physical education to elementary students. The program provides knowledge and skills in motor development, fundamental movement skills, physical activity, fitness, health, instructional methods, assessment, and classroom management. Candidates learn to design and implement engaging, inclusive physical education experiences that promote physical literacy, healthy lifestyles, and lifelong participation in physical activity. Practical experiences help candidates develop effective teaching strategies and the ability to meet the diverse needs of young learners. The endorsement complements an existing teaching degree and qualifies educators to teach physical education in PK-6 settings.
