Middle Level Health and Physical Education (5-9) Endorsement
A Middle Level Health and Physical Education (5-9) Endorsement prepares educators to teach developmentally appropriate health and physical education to students in grades 5-9. The program provides knowledge and skills in health education, physical activity, fitness, motor development, wellness, instructional methods, assessment, and classroom management. Candidates learn to design engaging and inclusive learning experiences that promote healthy behaviors, physical literacy, and lifelong wellness. Practical experiences develop effective teaching strategies and the ability to address the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of middle-level students. The endorsement complements an existing teaching degree and prepares educators for health and physical education instruction in grades 5-9.
