Chadron State College places incoming students in Math and English courses based on ACT or SAT scores according to the following guidelines. If you took the SAT test March of 2016 or later, please see our guide for how to access all six of your scores: Accessing Test Scores from College Board


ACT English & Reading 19+
SAT Writing & Language 26+ and SAT Reading 25+

SLO #2 Course

ACT English and/or Reading less than 19
SAT Writing & Language less than 26 and/or SAT Reading less than 25

CSC English Placement Test Required


ACT Math 19+
SAT Math 24.5+

Please contact your advisor and refer to the course catalog to determine which math course is most appropriate for your major.

ACT Math 16-18
SAT Math 21.5-24

Math 102: Pre-College Algebra

ACT Math less than 16
SAT Math less than 21.5

Math 101: Pre-Algebra


All Transitional Studies students enrolled in MATH 101 and/or ENG 111 are required to take EDUC 121- The Academic Life, which is a college and career success course.
