Yes. We have designed these events to build on one another. We try not to duplicate sessions or information at the events, as each event has a specific mission.
The intention of Registration & Orientation is to tackle all the business you need to take care of before August 1. Things like accepting your financial aid, understanding how to pay your bill, ordering your books, reviewing your class schedule, etc. If you do not have these things taken care of before August, you will not be prepared to attend CSC. There are several dates to choose from, so it is our hope that one will work with your schedule.
The intention of Move-In and Welcome Week is to allow you to move into your residence hall and acclimate to Eagle campus life—it is a time for us to welcome you into our Eagle family. There are important informational sessions to prepare you for the expectations we have of Eagle students in the classroom and the campus community, in addition to fun, social activities.
You will register when you complete the Ready to Register form. You must have submitted your ACT/SAT scores and/or college transcripts before you will be given the option to register. Once you have submitted the required documents, the Ready to Register form is added to your MyCSC To Do list. The event registration is part of the form you will complete.
To register you need to have completed your Ready to Register form and be enrolled for the Fall term. If you are living in the CSC Residence Halls, you must have submitted your housing application and paid the non-refundable housing deposit. You must have this taken care of before August 1, 2019.
You will begin to receive information about Move-In and Welcome Week in July.
Students are enrolled based on completion of the Ready to Register form. One of the most important sessions during Registration & Orientation is meeting with your advisor to make changes to your schedule, if necessary. This is also a time to find out more about the department and the courses you will take within your major during your time at CSC. We pre-build your course schedule because it saves time at the event (rather than starting from scratch) and because we want to enroll you as soon as we are able to maximize course availability. Usually, you will see a course schedule about a week or so after completing the Ready to Register form.
We understand, life happens. You may live too far from campus to make multiple trips, may have other obligations that prevent you from attending a scheduled event or you were late in completing the Ready to Register form and registration was closed for the events. If that is the case, we can schedule a one-on-one session with you on another date or make other arrangements. Please contact the START Office for assistance at email@example.com.
Absolutely! There are sessions designed specifically for parents/guardians/guests at Registration & Orientation and we encourage their attendance. Parents/guardians/guests are also welcome to attend the Move-In activities we have planned.
When you complete the Ready to Register form, you will have the option to register guests to attend Registration & Orientation. The same guests will be registered to attend the Move-In activities. Information about changing guests will be communicated in the event communications sent to your EagleMail account prior to the event.
You are charged a $100 Orientation fee to your Fall bill, which covers the cost of the Registration & Orientation event for you and two (2) guests.
You are welcome to bring a total of two guests to these events. The sessions require your full participation and the content of the sessions may not be appropriate for small children.
Additional Guests: You can register additional guests on the Ready to Register form. You will be charged $50 for each additional guest you register 12 years of age or older. All guests must be pre-registered by AUGUST 1.

You can order your textbooks from the comfort of your own home with CSC's FULLY ONLINE bookstore. CSC does not have a physical bookstore on campus. A link to CSC's Online Bookstore will be provided when the Bookstore Opens for fall textbook purchases mid-summer. Watch your EagleMail for updates.
To view the textbooks you need, view this tutorial.
It is important you have your books by the first day of classes on Monday, August 19. To ensure on-time delivery, you are encouraged to order your books IN ADVANCE.
If you are ordering books after August 2, please plan to have them shipped to your address in Chadron.
REMINDER: If you plan to ship your textbooks to your CSC residence hall, you MUST use the correct mailing address. Never use 1000 Main Street. Please read the information about shipping packages to CSC or contact the CSC Mailroom.
Move-In begins on Thursday, August 15th, 2019. Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. MST. Plan to arrive anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. MST. We provide a lot of help, so many students are moved-in to their rooms in about an hour. This gives you plenty of time to be checked-in and moved-in before 2:00 p.m. when official programming begins.
There will be time to finish any last-minute business and you will attend an official Welcome ceremony with CSC's President in the late afternoon. A meet-and-greet barbeque and concert downtown follows Thursday evening.
Friday, August 16th is a half-day of important programming, sessions and activities—be ready for a little bit of information overload! You will have a chance to relax at a picnic hosted that evening by CSC’s president. Many faculty and staff will be in attendance too. Registered parents/guests are encouraged to attend events both Thursday and Friday.
Welcome Week activities and events begin on Saturday and continue throughout the first week of classes. Classes begin Monday, August 19, 2019.
A complete agenda will be available online and will be mailed to you, approximately a month prior to the event.
Most of CSC's offices are open Monday - Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During both Registration & Orientation and Move-In we provide time for you to visit with individual offices/departments to take care of specific questions/concerns. It is our goal that you leave these events having your questions answered and understanding the next steps, if necessary.
You are encouraged to contact your roommate over the summer and to get to know them before you move-in. If you get the feeling that this may not be the best roommate match, you should let the housing office know right away so they can attempt to find you a new roommate before you move-in. For more information about housing, visit the Housing website.
Parents/Guests will need to make off-campus lodging arrangements. You are encouraged to book your lodging early. Also, you may want to consider extending your stay to take advantage of some of the outdoor activities and attractions Chadron has to offer. Check out the Hotel Information tab for more information.
Yes, for a couple of reasons. First, your CSC Fall Bill needs to be paid in full by the end of the second week of classes. It is best to take care of it early. You can either pay online or in person at the Business Office. Check out the Business Office website for payment plan information. You may also need money if you want to check out some of the restaurants and shopping in town, and the CSC Game Day store will be open for you to purchase gifts and CSC apparel.
