Business Services/Comptrollers Office

The Director of Business Services/Comptroller must take at least 40 hour per year in continuing education to maintain his CPA license.  The support staff personnel have taken several courses held both on-campus and off-campus to assist in their professional development.  Please list by categories the types of activities and the number of participants for each.  The continuing education credits are usually sponsored by NACUBO, the State Accounting Societies, and in several instances by private firms specializing in providing continuing education courses.  The type of professional development for support staff include software training (Excel, Power Point, Access, and Web Page software) along with customer service training.  Have Vision 2011 funds supported any of these activities?  No

We are only two but we have been to numerous seminars on campus dealing with customer service and office function. We also attended a workshop to learn more about compliance with OSHA regulations. We have not used any Vision 2011 funds.

Security

A.  The Security Supervisor position was created in November 2002. Training since that time includes:

·        Physical Security and Response to Homeland Security Issues

·        Supervisor Training—Sexual Harassment

·        Domestic Violence—three associated seminars

·        Customer Service Workshops

 

The Security Officer 1 position was created in February 2005.  Training participation since that time includes:

·        U.S. Army National Guard training for Military Policy/Security

·        Self Defense Training

·        Patrol Tactics, physical security—loss prevention, asset protection

 

                        Student Security Personnel trainings:

·        Annual introduction and position training—approximately 25 per year

·        CPR/First Aid Training—approximately 15 per year

·        Self Defense Training—approximately 10 per year

·        Customer Service—approximately 20 per year
