During the Week

Visiting when classes are in-session, seeing the day-to-day activity and rhythm of campus will give you a true feel for campus life. Mondays and Fridays are the most popular days to visit, so for the most personal visit, a mid-week appointment is best.

The Best Seasons

Fall is a great time for seniors to visit. Typically the weather is pleasant, allowing for a more enjoyable campus tour and coming early ensures you will be aware of important deadlines coming up throughout your senior year. Those students playing fall sports are best benefited by a spring visit in their junior year.

Plan Ahead

Chadron State College asks for two weeks advanced notice when planning personalized visits. This allows us time to coordinate all the appointments and aspects of your visit. Advanced notice ensures the best possible visit experience, and also allows time for research prior to your arrival on campus.

  • Saturdays and Sundays
  • Thanksgiving weekend
  • Christmas week
  • Winter and spring breaks
  • Exam weeks

Anything you want…well, almost. As long as class is in-session and we have time to plan, we can arrange for you to see and do just about anything of interest to you. This includes meeting with various faculty, possibly sitting in on a class, eating lunch with campus group/club members, touring the Cabela’s Collection and so much more! Again, the only way to see if CSC is the place for you is to spend as much time meeting people and asking questions as possible.

Personal campus visits typically begin at Crites Hall in the Visitor’s Center Lobby. Eagle Open Houses take place at the Student Center. Once your visit is confirmed, you will be sent an email (don’t forget to check your Junk box) with directions for parking, details about your day and a campus map.

CSC hosts Eagle Experience Day in the spring each year. During these events you can tour campus, check out the activities we offer, visit with a professor about your degree interests, have lunch on us and learn about admissions, financial aid, housing, and more! These events are large group visits days, so it is a great way to connect with fellow prospective Eagles and get preliminary information about CSC.

We do offer summer visits, however, keep in mind many of our students return home for the summer or take internships or jobs that are off campus and out of town. Our faculty members also use this time to vacation and do research, so they are not always available for meetings. However, summer is a beautiful time to visit CSC and we encourage summer visitors to explore the many vacation/leisure activities available in the surrounding areas during this time of year.

Students who are interested in playing at the collegiate level, should first visit the CSC Athletics page. Look for the sport of your interest along the top to visit their specific page, and complete the online questionnaire. We do attempt to schedule meetings with coaches during visits—this is available to juniors and seniors only, and may only be available during certain times of year, due to recruitment periods. Prior to your visit, make sure you have sent video and have your high school coach get in touch with our coaching staff—contact information is available at www.chadroneagles.com.

Chadron State is a fun place to be—both in-class and outside of class. There are many campus groups and clubs available for you to join, as well as intramurals, music, theater and more. If you would like to get more information on any of these activities, we are happy to arrange meetings with group sponsors and/or participating students.

You can order your textbooks from the comfort of your own home with CSC's fully online bookstore. CSC does not have a physical bookstore on campus. A link to CSC's online bookstore can be found here: Online Bookstore. Please note, purchasing materials goes by semester, you may not be able to purchase until course materials are updated for each semester.
