The TLC features a special collection of more than 400 books related to teaching and learning and an equipment library that loans out everything from headsets to video cameras.
TLC Special Collection
The TLC Special Collection is located near the TLC Faculty Multiuse Room (ADM 030) in west-end basement of the Old Administration Building. Faculty are welcome to peruse and checkout books (and other media) to support their professional development endeavors.
The TLC Special Collection was built upon an initial gift to the CSC Library, which has grown considerably since 2014. The Library manages and develops this micro-collection, but works in tandem with TLC staff, advisory committee members, and faculty to procure titles that support the TLC’s mission and goals.
For a book list and to check for availability, visit the NSCS Library Database.
In AY 2016-2017, the TLC is sponsoring a Book Review Club facilitated by Dr. Josh Ellis. If you’re interested in reviewing and discussing with faculty any of the books in the TLC Special Collection, contact Dr. Ellis (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. His review of How Learning Works: Seven Research-Based Principles for Smart Teaching by Ambrose, et al is available on the TLC Blog.
TLC Equipment Library
The TLC Equipment Library provides faculty with access to equipment designed to enhance teaching and learning, support media development, and extend the classroom (through real-time and asynchronous lecture capture).
To reserve and checkout equipment, visit the Equipment Library on the TLC Blog.
