Wired Connection in Residence Hall Rooms

Wired network wall ports are provided in all residence hall rooms. Wired connections are more secure, faster and offer higher reliability than wireless.

You must have Antivirus software protecting your computer as well as a current version of the operating system (most recent or 1 version behind).

Students are required to provide a CAT5/6 cable between the computer and network wall port. We recommend 15-25 feet, depending on your room layout.

Step 1:
Turn off wireless.

Step 2:
Connect a CAT5/6 cable between the network wall port and the ethernet jack on the computer.

Step 3:
Configure your network settings to DHCP.

Step 4:
Open a browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari).

Step 5:
navigate to www.csc.edu.

Step 6:
Bradford Persistent Agent will download and scan your device for antivirus*.
*Phones and tablets will not need antivirus.

Step 7:
If your device has all required software, it will establish the connection.
