Title: Service degradation reported by Microsoft related to E-mail

Microsoft Engineers identified the root cause as:  A recent update to Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) caused certificate validation errors.

IT Staff have verified that service is stable.


Notice from Microsoft:

Engineers are developing a fix to resolve the underlying issue. Customer Impact: Affected customers are unable to connect to the Exchange Online service with Exchange Active Sync using mobile devices running Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5, Windows Mobile 6.x, and some devices running Nokia Symbian. Workaround: As a workaround, customers can connect to the service via any other Exchange protocol.  Incident Start Time: Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 12:00 PM UTC  Preliminary Root Cause: A recent update to Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates is causing certificate validation errors. Next Update: Friday, July 25, 2014, at 9:30 PM UTC

There have been scattered reports of login issues when accessing Office365 services. Investigation has found an intermittent issue.

A solution has been put into place and is currently being tested. Please contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk@csc.edu or 308-432-6311 if there are continued issues.

Some users are experiencing a delay in email updating. Users are also experiencing a popup asking for their username and password. IT is looking into the cause of the issue.

Users desktop E-mail is not pulling updates frequently. Users seeing yellow triangle on the Outlook Icon. IT is looking into the problem. Users can use the web client until problem is resolved.
