Funding

The Chadron State Herbarium is an outstanding example of why the dedicated personnel associated with the Chadron State Foundation deserve a major note of thanks and appreciation. There are 2 foundation accounts that benefit the herbarium, Claude A. Barr Memorial Archives Account and the Dr. George R. Morgan Memorial Archive Account. Through these vehicles we have received literally thousands of dollars of private donations from both faculty members and private citizens. We have also been able to process book royalties, Elderhostel honoraria, payroll deductions, and item-by-item dollar contributions as well as in-kind contributions. The results has been the ability to purchase books, journals, materials and supplies for the Herbarium. We have also been able to sponsor scholarships such as the Dr. George R. Morgan Memorial Scholarship. The latest project involving the Chadron State Foundation has to do with the purchase of Herbarium cabinets, allowing further expansion.
