The Dr. George R. Morgan Memorial Archive is the personal professional library of a Chadron State College Professor of Geography who was a scholar of ethnobotany. His Archive has continued to grow as a library of economic botany, medicinal plants and as an informal archive of the Native American Church. Presently housed in Room #130 of the Science Building, this archive relates well to the envisioned Mari Sandoz Heritage Center.
The Claude A. Barr memorial Archive is currently housed in a special room of the Science Building Room #131 complex. Mr. Barr’s work was a foundation for restoration of native Great Plains habitats. It publicized the beauty and value of native plants of our region literally to all of the world. The Herbarium Director was invited to present a paper on Mr. Barr and his Jewels of the Plains at the annual meeting of the American Penstemon Society hosted by the Great Plains Botanical Society in the Black Hills.
The Bellamy Parks Jansen Archive is devoted to one of the nation’s best botanical illustrators and one of our alumni.
