Students intending to pursue a graduate degree emphasizing research are encouraged to strengthen their chemistry, physics, and mathematics proficiencies through additional coursework.
1 Students entering the Environmental Resource Management field are encouraged to pursue a minor in Applied Statistics, Chemistry, Geoscience, Water Resource Management, or Wildlife Management. CHEM 433L is highly recommended; GEOS 231/231L may be substituted for CHEM 433. BIS 130 or equivalent and MATH 232 and 435 are recommended, as well as several of the following courses: PS 432, C A 233 or 334, BIOL 311, GEOS 321 and 322. Spanish language should be taken for Global and Social Awareness in General Studies.
2 Students intending to pursue professional training in Medicine, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant programs should include BIOL 465, Neuroscience (3 credits) in their curriculum. SPAN 270, Spanish for the Health Professions (3 credits), or one year of Spanish language is highly recommended. Please consult advisor.
3 Students enrolled in this option are encouraged to substitute CHEM 131/131L and CHEM 132/132L for CHEM 140/140L, and substitute CHEM 233/233L and CHEM 234/234L for CHEM 231. MATH 232 is highly recommended.
A student must complete the following program in addition to the Professional Education and General Studies Requirements. Students pursuing this endorsement must complete PHYS 435 as one of the General Studies Global and Social Awareness requirements.
