The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) is an assessment tool designed to measure the student's use of learning and study strategies methods. It is a diagnostic and prescriptive measure. The focus is on both covert and overt thoughts and behaviors, which relate to successful learning. The student's thought processes <b>and</b> behaviors contribute significantly to success in post-secondary education. This assessment is used to assess student strengths and identify areas where effective learning strategies may be developed.
The LASSI is used at over 1,100 academic institutions in the United States alone. Studies indicate that graduation rates are higher for students who have taken the LASSI and developed better study skills than for students who have not taken the LASSI.
