WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Chadron State College wrestling team went 2-2 at the University of Central Missouri Jamboree Sunday in Warrensburg.

The Eagles (3-6, 0-3 RMAC) defeated Newman University 27-13 and finished the dual tournament with a 39-9 victory over Truman State University.

Central Missouri and the University of Mary defeated CSC by close margins. UCM eked out a 22-19 win and the University of Mary claimed a 22-15 decision.

Several Eagles had winning records during the dual tourney. Dustin Stodola, Ryan Fillingame, Brian Easterling, Duke Eardley and Jeremy Fillingame each had three wins, while Hagen Guzman, Justin Dekok and RJ Boylan all finished with two victories.

“We had some guys step up and the extra guys we took did really well,” CSC head coach Scott Ritzen said. “Brian had a good day for us and I was happy to see Hagen and Jeremy perform well.”

Eardley, senior from Mountain View, Wyo., who was an all-conference linebacker last year for the football team, tried his hand at his first-ever collegiate wrestling tournament and performed well.

“Duke’s a competitor and he’s been around wrestling his entire life,” Ritzen said. “It was really exciting for our team to have him do well.”

The Eagles will face off against three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams this week, beginning with Friday’s dual at Western State.
