CSC NeSIS e-News is produced each week to notify the campus of important announcements and progress that is being made with the new PeopleSoft based student information system, aka NeSIS. Previous versions of eNews are archived on the CSC NeSIS Website, http://www.csc.edu/nesis/updates.csc

What's Live?

Faculty and Staff have received their usernames/passwords and are logging into the portal.

Scholarship awards have been posted and students may access this information through the portal.

What's Happening this Week?

Final preparations are being made for pre-registration which begins April 5th.
Students may begin enrolling on the following dates:

Several suggestions will help students prepare for pre-registration:

• Meet with your academic advisor and plan your fall and spring schedules
• Make sure you can log in to the portal (call 308-432-6311 for help)
• Step through the registration tutorial (to be posted on the NeSIS web site this week)

Additional assistance with the pre-registration process will be available in the Student Center from Noon-6pm, Monday through Friday the week of April 12th.

Conversion efforts continue to focus on Transfer Credit and subsequent runs for bio/demo, enrollment history, and course schedules.

The Financial Aid Office is preparing to post awards on the portal.

Calendar of Events (Go-Live Schedule)

Faculty and Students will be affected by a Student Information System Outage from 4:00MT July 30th through August 1st. During this time, access to the current and new student information systems to enter and view summer grades, enroll in courses, etc will be unavailable. The outage is necessary to convert financial balances from the current to the new student information system. Additional information will be provided as the conversion process proceeds.

A Go-Live schedule is provided by clicking on the MyCSC link on the CSC home page. The numerous services offered in PeopleSoft will be phased in according to the NeSIS project schedule. As services go-live, the Service name in the chart will be changed into a link. E-mail notices will also be issued to employees and to students. As the NeSIS project progresses additional services will be added to the chart.

Faculty and Staff Access to NeSIS

All faculty and staff have access to PeopleSoft. Faculty and staff accounts were e-mailed to employees on March 16.

Because the NeSIS project involves 7 State of Nebraska college and university campuses sharing a common authentication system referred to as TrueYou, a new unique ID is required for access to the PeopleSoft environment. The new ID is printed on CSC ID cards issued beginning with the fall 2009 term. All faculty and staff should have a new CSC ID card issued as of the beginning of the fall 2009 term. If you are in need of a new ID card, please contact Janet Hartman in Crites Hall room 110.

CSC NeSIS Web Site

The CSC NeSIS web site can be found by clicking on the NeSIS icon at the bottom of the CSC home page. The site is provided to help inform faculty, staff, and students about the NeSIS project and is updated weekly!
