Nebraska Student Information System (NeSIS) Project Update
January 25, 2010
Welcome to CSC NeSIS eNews! This eNewsletter will be sent out each week to notify the campus of important announcements and progress that is being made with the new PeopleSoft based student information system, aka NeSIS.
Admissions is Live! Fall 2010 CSC applicants have been using a new on-line application process, launched in August 2009, which feeds their data directly into NeSIS. CSC applicants use the new MyCSC NeSIS portal to refer to their ToDo list in order to complete the application process. Ms. Tena Cook directs the CSC Admissions Department and was heavily involved in the development of the new admissions process for CSC. The Admissions staff has worked hard to learn the new system while continuing to manage the legacy application system on SIS+ for spring and summer 2009 applicants.
Schedule of Classes is Live! Representatives from academics and the Registrar's Office attended training in October 2009 and have been hard at work building the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 class schedules in preparation for advising and pre-registration.
Your project team is hard at work at CSC and in Lincoln working on system setup, data conversion, and security.
The Financial Aid team is preparing for their go-live.
Training materials are being developed to guide office staff, faculty and students how to use NeSIS.
Students will begin claiming their credentials in preparation for logging into the new portal and should watch their EagleMail accounts closely for notices of their account information.
The CSC NeSIS web site launches this week. It can be found by clicking on the NeSIS icon at the bottom of the CSC home page. The site is provided to help inform faculty, staff, and students about the NeSIS project.
