High Plains Band and Choir Festival

High Plains

The CSC Music Department will host the High Plains Band and Choir Honor Festival on February 2-3, 2015. Eligible participants are high school students who have an interest in music, would like to further their musical knowledge, and want to have FUN making music with other students who share the same interest.

Students selected for the High Plains Band and Choir Music Festival participate in two days of rehearsals and activities culminating in a concert at the end of the second day at Chadron State College located in beautiful northwest Nebraska. Ensembles include an Honor Band and Honor Choir (SATB).

While students are in rehearsal, directors have the opportunity of attending reading sessions and clinics that focus on their areas of teaching expertise.

The High Plains 2015 directors will be:

Honor Band: Dr. Joseph Manfredo

Honor Choir: Dr. Joel Schreuder

The audition fee is $20 per student. Students selected will not be charged any additional fees from CSC; the only additional expenses for participants are meals and lodging.  For other information, please contact Jessyca Hovendick, the Visual and Performing Arts office assistant, at 308-432-6317, or jhovendick@csc.edu.
