COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second time this season, Chadron State’s Cody Hunt is the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Hunt, a junior from Lingle, Wyo., broke his own school record for the second time with a throw of 59 feet, 10 ½ inches in the shot put at the Fort Hays State Quad last weekend. The throw, which is the third farthest in the nation, automatically qualifies him for the NCAA Division II National Championships in May.
Hunt also placed fifth in the discus at Hays, finishing with a throw of 149-5.
The CSC men’s and women’s track and field team will compete at the South Dakota School of Mines Open Thursday in Rapid City.
