RMAC leader Fort Lewis coming to town

CHADRON – The Chadron State College softball team will host Fort Lewis in a four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series this weekend in Chadron.

The Eagles and Skyhawks will play a doubleheader Saturday at noon before playing another one Sunday at 10 a.m.

Fort Lewis currently leads the RMAC standings with a 13-10 overall record and an 11-3 mark in the conference. The Skyhawks lost seven of their first eight games but have had three three-game winning streaks to get above .500.

Chelsea Rodriguez leads the Fort Lewis offense with a .476 batting average and 26 RBIs. She’s scored 25 runs and 18 of her 30 hits have gone for extra bases.

The Skyhawks’ top two pitchers are Alexis Villegas and Kassie Haubert. Villegas has a record of 3-3, while Haubert is 4-2.

After getting swept last weekend at Colorado School of Mines, the Eagles are 6-15 overall and 4-8 in the RMAC.
