CHADRON – The Chadron State College basketball teams, which have battled their way into becoming Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference playoff contenders, will be on the road for the final time this season when they visit Denver to play at Metro State on Friday night and at Regis on Saturday night.
Both CSC teams are 8-13 for the season and 8-9 in the conference. That puts the women’s team sixth in the standings while the men are tied for seventh with three teams.

Eight teams advance to the RMAC playoffs, which will be announced later this month.
The CSC men have won six of their last eight games and the women have won seven of their last nine, five of them by four or fewer points.
The Metro women are 19-2 for the season and 15-2 in the conference. The Roadrunners, who are ranked eighth in Division II, were cruising through the conference before being upset 80-64 by Colorado Christian at home on Friday night.
They have a balanced attack with six players averaging between 6.4 and 10.6 points a game. They defeated the Eagles 71-43 in Chadron on Dec. 10.
The Metro men, ranked 11th in D-II, have lost three of their last four games and are 18-4 overall and 13-4 in the RMAC. Their top gun is 6-foot-4 senior Reggie Evans, who is averaging 17.8 points to lead the RMAC and seven rebounds.
The Roadrunners edged CSC 66-62 in Chadron in December, when the Eagles were just 15-28 from the free throw line.
Both Regis teams are struggling. The women are 4-9 since losing to the Eagles 71-48 in December and are 8-15 overall, but possess one of the conference’s leading scorers, Tae’lor Purdy, who is averaging 16 points a game.
The Regis men are 5-16 for the season and had lost 15 of 16 games before beating Colorado Christian 78-58 on Saturday night. The Eagles topped the Rangers 72-58 in December.
The CSC teams will wrap up their regular seasons by hosting Colorado-Colorado Springs and Colorado State-Pueblo on Feb. 17-18 and Nebraska-Kearney on Feb. 25.
