CHADRON – Fans were treated to some closely contested matches at the Chadron State College wrestling Red and White Dual Saturday at the Nelson Physical Activity Center. Seven of nine matches were decisions and two of them went into overtime.
The Red team won six matches, including the last five, to win the annual instrasquad scrimmage, 21-12.
Those winning matches for the Red Team were Leandro Arias at 141 pounds, CJ Clark at 149, Bruce Zurek at 157, Mikah Kadera at 165, Briston Brenton at 174 and Jordan Debus at 184.
The White Team victors included Connor Larson at 125, Dustin Stodola at 133 and Chris Leak at 197.
Chadron State will begin its regular season next weekend at the University of Wyoming Cowboy Open in Laramie, Wyo.
