CHADRON – Chadron State College Athletic Director Brad Smith has been assigned the reins of the football program for the remainder of the season.
President Janie Park asked Smith, who was CSC’s head coach from 1987-2004, to resume that role, along with his responsibilities as athletic director, while the college works with the NCAA as it looks into potential violations of NCAA regulations.
“Brad will take the necessary steps to assure that the CSC football program will continue its tradition of excellence and to end the season on a positive note,” Park said.
Smith was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Football Coach of the Century in 2009. Before stepping down as the Eagles’ head coach in 2004 to become the CSC athletic director he amassed a record of 133-56-1.
