CHADRON – In addition to plenty of Homecoming festivities this week, the Chadron State College volleyball team will host two matches this weekend at Armstrong Gymnasium.
The Eagles are 4-11 overall and 0-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after dropping a tight three-set match to South Dakota Mines Tuesday evening in Chadron.
Chadron State will host two nationally-ranked conference foes in No. 9 Metro State and No. 22 Regis University Friday and Saturday. CSC will play Regis Friday at 7 p.m. and Metro State Saturday at 6 p.m.
Regis, (12-3, 4-1 RMAC), fell to cross-town rival Metro State last Tuesday in three sets, but bounced back to defeat Colorado Christian and Black Hills State earlier this week. The 12-3 record is the best mark for Regis after 15 matches since 1998.
Metro State (11-2, 4-1 RMAC) won two matches last week, sweeping Regis on Tuesday and winning in four sets at Colorado Christian on Saturday. The Roadrunners also defeated Black Hills State Monday in Denver. Metro will play at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, who is ranked eighth in Division II, on Friday.
