CSC wrestlers perform well at York Open

YORK, Neb. - Several members of the Chadron State College wrestling team took advantage of extra matches at the York College Open Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles are still scheduled to compete at the Central Missouri Duals today (Sunday) but CSC head coach Scott Ritzen said earlier in the week that he was hoping some of his wrestlers needing more mat time could use the York Open for added experience. For many of them, it worked.

Cody Vasconcellos was the top performer for CSC. The junior from Turlock, Calif., won his first three matches at 174 pounds, including two pins and a major decision, before he and the rest of the team headed to Missouri.

Chris Leak, Hagen Guzman, Jake Lords, Justin Dekok, Jeremy Fillingame, and RJ Boylan also earned wins for the Eagles.
