CSC womenís basketball coach won't require surgery

July 8, 2009

Chadron State College women’s basketball coach Tim Connealy, who broke two bones in his neck during a diving accident Sunday afternoon while vacationing in Florida, got good news on Monday when he learned he will not need surgery.

CSC athletic director Brad Smith said on Monday that specialists in Denver determined Connealy has no displacement in the neck, spinal cord or spinal column. As a result, surgery is not needed.

Connealy, 28, will wear a cervical collar for six weeks and then return to Denver to see if any further steps need to be taken in his recovery.
