Eagles win dual in San Francisco

Major decisions by Mark Pfeifer at 149 pounds and Jared Webster at 157 in the opening two matches got the Chadron State College wrestling team off to a fast start Friday afternoon as the Eagles defeated San Francisco State 23-12 in San Francisco.

The Eagles also picked up decisions from freshmen Brett Hunter and Josh Majerus and senior Ryan Hoffman. In addition, CSC’s Jon Westerby received a forfeit at 197 pounds.

The victory gives the Eagles a 2-5 dual record. The team will participate in the California Collegiate Tournament on Saturday. Eight California teams also are entered.

197—Jon Westerby, CSC, won by forfeit.
