CSC graduates receive education honors

CHADRON – Two Chadron State College graduates who are school administrators recently received special recognition.

Mike Halley, in his sixth year as principal at Scottsbluff High School, was named Principal of the Year from Region V of the Nebraska State Association of Secondary Schools.

Del Dack, superintendent of schools at Paxton the past 13 years, was presented the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association Superintendent of the Year Award during its spring conference in Kearney.

Halley is a graduate of Morrill High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Chadron State in 1991. Region V includes 45 schools in Nebraska west of Valentine and McCook. He is now eligible for the state’s Principal of the Year Award.

Dack is originally from McCook. He earned his bachelor’s degree from CSC in 1989. His wife is the former Geri Detwiler of Chadron. Her parents, Tom and Lee Detwiler, were among those attending the event in Kearney.
