CSC senior is third in heptathlon

Chadron State College senior Stacee Craig placed third in the heptathlon Thursday and Friday at the Jack Christiansen Invitational Meet hosted by Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

Craig scored 4,553 points. She had the best marks among the nine contestants in the shot put (36-10 ½) and the javelin (113-3). Both were seasonal bests for Craig, who is from Powell, Wyo.

Her other marks were: 100 hurdles—15.67 seconds; high jump—5-1 ¼; 200—26.13; long jump—16-10; and 800—2:41.60.

The heptathlon was won by Brittany Lewis of the University of Colorado with 4,977 points. Jenna Mann of the University of Wyoming was second with 4,720.

Another CSC entry, Liz Ellicott of Harrison, was eighth with 3,351 points.
