This page is a guide for students who are taking a Chadron State College course off-campus and who need access to reference and library information to satisfy the requirements of the course.
The online library catalog for Chadron State College is available through web access on the Library home page or through direct web access at library.nscs.edu. Users are urged to contact their local library for interlibrary loan services to request materials. If a user does not have access to a local library then they can contact the CSC Library to arrange interlibrary loan and delivery to a home address.
If you hold a valid library card at your local library you should be eligible for all services provided by that library. This includes requesting interlibrary loan of materials from other libraries. Public library facilities in Scottsbluff, Gering, Mitchell and other communities in the area often have access to specialized databases and indexes which are available to users who hold local library card privileges.
If you have a valid CSC ID card, it will be accepted in almost any college or university library in the state, subject to the local regulations of the individual library. This will most often give users access to the web-based and online services of the libraries visited as well as other basic library services. Generally, however, it does not give the card bearer access to the host library's interlibrary loan services which are often reserved to local students, faculty and staff. Students enrolled in classes at the Extended Campus Sites (McCook, North Platte, Scottsbluff, and Sidney) are encouraged to seek assistance from the library at the campus affiliate with college. Western Nebraska Community College Library, for example, is in very close cooperation with CSC for services to CSC students in the area. They will allow use of their online indexes such as EBSCOhost Academic Search Elite.
