Chadron State College is required to make certain information available to students, parents, prospective students, employees, prospective employees, potential student-athletes, high school coaches, guidance counselors, and the general public. Chadron State College has developed this web site to make this information available to any and all of the aforementioned audiences.

Privacy of Student Records - Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

This link provides students specific information on their privacy rights as a student, including procedures for inspection, correction, and disclosure of information in the student’s record and a description of what constitutes directory information.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of student records. The Act provides for a student’s right to review education records, the right to seek to amend those records, and to limit disclosure of information from the records.

Colleges may disclose directory information on a student without violating FERPA, unless a student has restricted the disclosure of his/her directory information in the Student Information System. Directory information consists of:
