Applicants who do not meet any of the CSC English proficiency requirements, but who are otherwise academically qualified, may be considered for conditional acceptance as degree-seeking students if they enroll in a CSC-recognized intensive English language program. Upon satisfactory completion of the program at a level equal to the CSC minimum language requirements, and assuming all other admission requirements are met, they will be considered eligible for full admission as degree-seeking students to the College.
Completion of a language program must be within the last two years.
Any student admitted conditionally as an undergraduate has a maximum of 12 consecutive months to pass the language requirement. Summer classes may be required.
BridgePathways Academic English Center, located at Chadron State College, offers an intensive academic English curriculum focused on essential speaking and listening skills needed for successful participation in discussions and lectures, and on critical writing coursework designed to prepare students for university assignments.
The BridgePathways Center has 6 intakes throughout the year, offering 8-week terms.
Students accepted to the program will receive conditional admission from CSC, allowing them to enroll in their academic program upon successful completion of level 5 of the language program without having to take a TOEFL or IELTS exam.
