Cost of Attendance

Deposit and Payment

Application Fee

Chadron State college does not charge an application fee.

Deposits

All admitted international students except those referred through a CSC-approved agent organization, are required to make a deposit payment in the amount of the estimated first semester cost of attendance at least 30 days before the Form I-20 will be issued. NOTE: Students referred by a CSC- approved agent organization are exempt from the deposit requirement

Payments

Full payment of tuition and fees is due for all semesters no later than the end of the second week of each semester.

Health and Immunization Information

Except as provided below, all entering students must show a physician validated immunization record for measles, mumps, rubella (MRR) and diphtheria. Applicants from foreign countries are required to present a record of TB skin or IGRA blood test (Quantiferon Gold) completed within six (6) months prior to first enrollment in addition to the above required record of immunization. This evidence must be presented during the first semester the student is enrolled. If either of the tests is positive, a chest x-ray is required. If a student lives in a country which does not offer the TB tests the student must undergo testing upon arrival at the college.

  • A person qualifies for a medical exemption from the requirement to show proof of immunization when the person files a bona fide statement signed by a physician licensed to practice medicine in the United States verifying that the physical condition of the person seeking admission makes the required immunization unsafe and indicating the specific nature and probably duration of the condition. The exemption shall not extend beyond the period which contraindicates immunization. A person qualifying for this exemption must sign a waiver form provided by the college stating that, if an outbreak of measles or rubeola occurs at the college or surrounding community, the person may be subject to exclusion from the campus and college related activities during the outbreak period.
  • A person qualifies for a religious exemption when the person files for a notarized affidavit on an approved form that immunization is contrary to the religious tenets and practices of the signer. A person qualifying for this exemption must also sign a waiver form provided by the college stating that, if an outbreak of measles or rubeola occurs at the college or surrounding community, the person may be subject to exclusion from the campus and college related activities during the outbreak period.
  • A person qualifies for an exemption from the requirement to show proof of immunization when enrolled in off-campus courses or courses offered off-campus by distance learning technology. This exemption will be revoked if, at any time, the student enrolls in on-campus courses. At that time, the student will be required to show proof of immunization during the first semester the student is taking courses on campus.
  • According to guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a person born before 1957 need not submit proof of immunization of measles, mumps and rubeola.

Official Transcripts

Transcripts

  • Applicants who have graduated from an American high school and are applying as entering freshman need only to have the school send a sealed official copy of their transcript indicating the final cumulative grade point average and confirmation of graduation.
  • Applicants who have graduated from a high school outside the United States and are applying as entering freshman must provide an official English transcript translation confirming the applicant has successfully completed all requirements equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma. Final translated transcripts must be accompanied by an official transcript in the student’s native language.
    • Except as described below, high school transcripts for entering freshman applicants do not need to be officially evaluated by an independent evaluation service. Exceptions include,
      • When CSC cannot make a determination that the diploma is generally equivalent to a U.S. high school-level diploma.
      • When CSC cannot accurately determine the authenticity of the transcript.
      • When student is applying for an International Tuition Waiver. (GPA must be verified)
  • Applicants who wish to transfer credit from another U.S.-based college or university need only to have the institution send a sealed official copy of the complete transcript. Students who have attended more than one U.S. institution must submit transcripts for all institutions attended.
  • Applicants who want to transfer credit from colleges or universities outside of the United States are required to submit official transcripts, translated into English by a foreign credentials evaluation service, from all colleges or universities attended. In addition to being translated into English, transcripts must be professionally evaluated on a course-by-course basis by a CSC-approved foreign credential evaluation service. All translated credentials must be sent directly to CSC by the evaluation service or submitted in a sealed envelope.

Chadron State College recommends three evaluation services for evaluating transcripts. Translations from official government education agencies are also accepted. Typically, these services will require that transcripts be sent from the foreign educational institution directly to them. They may require certified English translations of documents. A fee from the student is required for evaluating of credentials. Fee payment and all contact regarding this process is the applicant’s responsibility.

  • If you want to use another evaluation service, please check with us to ensure we will accept evaluations from that company.
  • If CSC receives transcripts from a service that do not meet CSC’s standards, CSC reserves the right to require students to get their transcripts re-evaluated by a CSC chosen evaluation service.
