Note:all of the following information must be received by Office of International Education BEFORE a student will be considered for full admission.

To ensure timely processing of your application, international applicants should:
Chadron State college does not charge an application fee.
All admitted international students except those referred through a CSC-approved agent organization, are required to make a deposit payment in the amount of the estimated first semester cost of attendance at least 30 days before the Form I-20 will be issued. This deposit will be applied to the student’s actual first semester cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, health insurance premiums, campus housing, and meal plans. Since the deposit is an estimate of the cost of attendance, any costs of attendance above and beyond the amount covered by the deposit are due prior to enrollment.
*A prompt refund of the deposit will be mailed to students who do not attend CSC as originally planned.
NOTE: Students referred by a CSC- approved agent organization are exempt from the deposit requirement
Full payment of tuition and fees is due for all semesters no later than the end of the second week of each semester.
Chadron State College does not offer extended payment plans.
Failure to pay in full by the end of the second week of each semester will result in dismissal from the college and a termination of SEVIS visa status, which may result in you being required to leave the US.
Proof of English language proficiency must be submitted by applicants at the time of application. If English is not your first language, you must have evidence of English language proficiency sent directly to the OIE. Proficiency may be demonstrated by any of the following.
Test of English Language as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

Exception to the Language Proficiency Requirement
Evidence of proficiency other than those listed above may be determined as follows:
CSC reserves the right to require additional testing of any incoming student’s English skills. If it is determined that additional English studies are necessary, you may be required to take the appropriate intensive English program courses prior to, or concurrent with, enrolling in CSC academic programs. Refusal to do so, or failure to successfully complete, may result in dismissal from CSC.
Applicants who do not meet any of the CSC English proficiency requirements, but who are otherwise academically qualified, may be considered for conditional acceptance as degree-seeking students if they enroll in a recognized intensive English language program. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, and assuming all other admission requirements are met, they will be considered eligible for full admission as degree-seeking students to the College.
Any student admitted conditionally as an undergraduate has a maximum of 12 consecutive months to pass the language requirement. Summer classes may be required.
To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) from Chadron State College (CSC) and an F-1 visa from the United States, non-U.S. citizens and non-permanent residents are required by law to certify that they have sufficient financial resources to pay for their education and related expenses. Specifically, students must show that they have sufficient liquid funds for their first year of study and living expenses at CSC and that adequate funding will be available for all subsequent years through completion of their program.
All applicants must complete, sign and submit the CSC Financial Declaration and Certification form. The form must be accompanied by proof of financial support in the form of a current bank statement and an official bank letter signed by a bank official.
If the applicant is being partially or fully funded with personal funds, parent’s funds, or a sponsor’s funds, he/she must submit an official and original bank letter that includes: confirmation that the account holder has a specific dollar amount of funds immediately available on deposit; name and address of the bank; date of the letter; and name, signature and title of the bank official certifying the funds. Vague statements such as “six-figure funds available” or “sufficient funds available” are not considered specific or sufficient.
The bank letter must be ORIGINAL, in English, and not more than three months old. Bank letter must have the official bank seal, stamp, or notarization in a color other than black. Bank letter must be mailed to CSC’s physical address. Photocopies and faxes are not accepted. These documents cannot be returned.
Applicants being funded, in whole or in part, by a family or private third party sponsor must provide the sponsor’s financial support information required on the Financial Declaration and Certification form.
Applicants being funded by their government or an agency must include an original or certified copy in English of their award letter detailing which expenses will be provide by their government or agency sponsor.

Except as provided below, all entering students must show a physician validated immunization record for measles, mumps, rubella (MRR) and diphtheria. Applicants from foreign countries are required to present a record of TB skin or IGRA blood test (Quantiferon Gold) completed within six (6) months prior to first enrollment in addition to the above required record of immunization. This evidence must be presented during the first semester the student is enrolled. If either of the tests is positive, a chest x-ray is required. If a student lives in a country which does not offer the TB tests the student must undergo testing upon arrival at the college.

Chadron State College recommends three evaluation services for evaluating transcripts. Translations from official government education agencies are also accepted. Typically, these services will require that transcripts be sent from the foreign educational institution directly to them. They may require certified English translations of documents. A fee from the student is required for evaluating of credentials. Fee payment and all contact regarding this process is the applicant’s responsibility.

At its discretion, CSC reserves the right to require that any transcript be evaluated by a CSC-approved evaluation service.
On a competitive basis, Chadron State College awards a limited number of International Student Tuition Waivers to qualified new international undergraduate degree-seeking students. Waivers are equal to one-half of Nebraska resident tuition for up to 16 enrolled credit hours per semester for a maximum of 8 consecutive fall and spring semesters for entering freshmen and 4 consecutive fall and spring semesters for entering transfer students.
Qualifying Criteria and Eligibility: Only complete applications will be considered.
Waiver Policies:
A one page typewritten or printed essay describing the applicants background, significant experiences, unusual challenges or hardships, future personal and professional goals, and a description of distinguished achievements must accompany the application to be considered complete. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
