Name: Maria Evtodieva

Major: Communication Arts in Public Relations option

Country: Russia

Favorite food: Eeeeeeverything and Ice Cream on top

Favorite color: Green, Black, White

Favorite place to travel: Italy, France, USA: Colorado, California, Florida

The most interesting book you've read and why OR movie you have watched and why: The Lord of the Rings by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien is my favorite book because my brother read it to me when I was three, then he gave me my own copy of the book as a gift when I was 12 and then I bought my own in English. I am in love with all the characters and fantasy in the book. I drew my own maps for the book and tried to learn the Elves' language. When I played outside, I always imagined fights against Orks and Trolls.

What do you like to do outside of class/study-time (weeknights or weekends)? I like to go to the Bean Broker to listen a life music, to walk with my friends on Chadron's street looking at beautiful decorations before any big holidays, to go to a little but absolutely hospitable cinema theatre, to go to campus events which we have almost every day, and to interact with other students because everyone is special.

Tell us about a positive experience you have had with a professor. All of the CSC professors I have encountered are very kind, understanding, and attentive to every student. They are our advice, support, knowledge and sometimes like second parents.

Clubs, groups, activities you participate/have participated in on campus: Member of International Club, member of Public Relations Club, Public Relations Vice Chair of Campus Activities Board, Resident Advisor in campus dorms, The Big Event Advertising Assistant, International Ambassador and CSC Peer Mentor.

Favorite CSC class or class project: I love all final projects for Dr. Shaunda French and Professor Michael Kennedy because they give you real experience you can use in the future and put in your portfolio.

Do you live on or off campus? I live on campus to keep my scholarship that pays a big part of my tuition payment. I like to live on campus.

Favorite quote or saying: Never let anyone say that you cannot do anything. You can do everything if you want it hard enough and you work hard for it.

What excites you the most about being an International Ambassador? To help international students prepare their documents to apply for education abroad. I love to communication with people from different countries because it is always exciting to know their history and features of their culture. Everything is special and I am totally ready to let everyone know that they can achieve everything they want because they are special. I love CSC, and I think that working as an International Ambassador is a good opportunity to give something back to CSC. I am very thankful for everything CSC has given me and I want to show how much I appreciate being here. I want to share it with other and let them know that Chadron is one of the greatest opportunities to build a great base for a successful future. I want other students to know what I feel when I wake up here every day and go to my classes, activities, volunteer work, and job.

Do you have any passions or hobbies? My passions are singing, drawing, learning new languages, creating new things with old stuff, computer programs, reading, and cooking.

Tell us a random fact about yourself. If you have ice cream and cartoons from the Gold Collection of Disney, you are my best friend.

What do you miss the most about home? I miss my family and long conversations with my old friends.

What do you plan to do after you complete your degree? I will apply for graduate school and be happy.
