Homecoming Parade

Saturday, September 29th – 9:30 AM start

Prior registration is not needed; all entries will be placed in order as arrived, so the earlier arrival, the closer to the front. All entries need to be in the designated location below by 9:00 AM, because all entries (excluding bands) will be judged at that time!

The parade route is from 10th & Main Street to 1st & Main Street.

Bill Baker, a 1991 inductee to the Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame, is the 2018 Homecoming Parade Marshal. Baker is best remembered for leading the 1958 CSC football team to a perfect 8-0 record. Baker also led the track team to second-place finishes at the Nebraska College Conference Meet, which featured all the small colleges in the state, in both 1958 and ’59.

Parade Marshal: Bill Baker

Bill Baker, a 1991 inductee to the Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame, is the 2018 Homecoming Parade Marshal. Baker is best remembered for leading the 1958 CSC football team to a perfect 8-0 record. After leaving CSC in 1962, Baker was an assistant football coach for nine years at the University of Wyoming, where he had played football, and two years at the University of Arizona. After that, he was a scout for several pro football teams the next 25 years. He now lives in Tuczon, Arizona, and at age 90 has organized a 60-year reunion of his undefeated 1958 team. With the help of the CSC Alumni Association he also has invited other athletes and students from that era to join “the Baker boys” in the celebration.
