Graduate Studies

Master of Education - Curriculum and Instruction

There are three options within the master's of education degree program.

• Elementary General Education
• Elementary Field Option (Concentration in a Subject Area)
• Secondary

All of these programs require that the student be qualified for or hold a teaching certificate. The programs are intended to provide the student with advanced knowledge in curriculum, research, assessment, administration, supervision and counseling.

Entrance requirements for the Master's of Education

• Complete application
• Earned baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a grade point average of 2.75 or better on a 4.00 scale
• Official transcripts from the college/university which issued bachelor's degree. 
• Official transcripts from any institutions attended after receiving bachelors degree (if applicable)
• Applicants pursuing a science concentration must complete the GRE
• Applicants must hold a teaching certificate or be qualified for a teaching certificate

EDCI 631, Introduction to Graduate Study, should be completed within the first 12 hours of a student's program of study.
