Fred Wanek Music Scholarship

Applicant must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time music major and demonstrate deserving proficiency in musical talent
- Permanent residence must be in counties of Customer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, or Perkins of Nebraska
- Funds will be used to provide private music lessons, either vocal or instrumental, for which there is a charge beyond regular tuition, books, housing, food, and clothing necessary for non-musician college students

Gus Swanson Memorial Communications Scholarship

The Gus Swanson Memorial Communications Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 is available to qualified students.
Applicants must:
- Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
- In their Sophomore year or above
- Be majoring in a communications related program including Advertising, Marketing, Mass Communications (print or broadcast), Communication Studies, Public Relations, Journalism or Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing

National Association of Broadcasters
Application Deadline: January 31
Purpose: The program is intended to fund research on economic, business, social, and policy issues important to station managers and other decision-makers in the U.S. commercial broadcast industry.
Eligibility: The competition is open to all academic personnel. Graduate students and senior undergraduates are invited to submit proposals.
Awards: There is a total of $25,000 in available funding. NAB typically awards four to six grants. Funds are not to be used for overhead or benefits. Grants are disbursed in two equal installments: one after a contract has been signed, and the second upon receipt of the final report, due one year later.

Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association (NJJA)

The NJJA is a private non-profit association organized in 1975 by professionals concerned with the need for ongoing training and education in the Juvenile Justice System. The purpose of NJJA is to promote quality and improvement of services to juveniles in the following manner:
- Provide continuing education of persons, provide services to youth within the juvenile justice system;

The purpose of the scholarship is divided into two priorities:
- To assist the orthopedically impaired and/or the physically disabled to further their education beyond high school
- To assist those who serve the orthopedically impaired and/or the physically disabled in their pursuit that leads to quality of life and their quest to be a contributing member to their environment
For Priority 1 - Applicants must:
- Be a high school Senior or college student
- Be a citizen of the United States and a resident of Nebraska
- Either be a high school Senior with a 2.25 or C+ equivalent GPA
- and a high school Senior accepted into the school of their choice
- or a college student enrolled and making satisfactory progress toward graduation

West Nebraska Blood Center, the blood donor center at Regional West Medical Center, established this scholarship fund to promote the field of laboratory medicine.
