Unit Evaluation of Professional Education Faculty Performance

The unit conducts systematic and comprehensive evaluations of faculty teaching performance to enhance the competence and intellectual vitality of the professional education faculty. Evaluations of professional education faculty are used to improve teaching, scholarship and service of unit faculty.

Candidates systematically assess the quality of teaching in the unit through candidates’ course evaluations. The unit’s responsibility for the performance of professional education faculty includes a systematic and comprehensive evaluation during the fall from registered students. Additional evaluations may be done in the spring semester. Evaluations are designed to collect data on the quality of faculty teaching. The student’s evaluations are collected and tabulated by the Dean’s Office. Table 5.10 identifies the evaluation form items listed on the student evaluation of faculty teaching form.. A summary report of individual faculty evaluations are given to each faculty member with recommendations for specific ways to enhance performance and professional growth, continuing to follow the Education Unit’s Visionary Leader framework.
