What can you do with a degree in Psychology?

Brandee LarthropBrandee Lathrop is currently using her degree and working for the Office of Human Development (OHD) where she works with mentally disabled clients. She is also intends to enroll in the graduate Community Counseling Program at Chadron State College.






 

Sergio PalomoSergio Palomo is currently in the process of applying to numerous graduate schools, and was recently accepted into the Adler School of Professional Psychology. He is still waiting for responses from the Sacramento School of Professional Psychology to pursue a Masters degree in Child Clinical Psychology.





 

Christy Webber Christy Webber obtained an internship at the Oglala Sioux Tribe Work Force Investment (VIA) Summer Youth Program. Christy will be working and supervising low income Native American teenagers who are seeking employment. She will act as a mentor, help them find jobs, and make sure they get paid. She will participate in two meetings each week to discuss progress and also to do some community service or learning projects, like DARE.


 

Bruce BeversBruce Bevers is staying at Chadron State College to work on a Masters degree in Sports Management. He will be working with the football team and coaching staff in Fall 2008.





 

Kelcey RobertsKelcey Roberts is moving to Laramie Wyoming to attend the University of Wyoming. She is entering a Masters degree program in Marriage and Family Counseling.





 

Erica GompertErica Gompert works in Scottsbluff, NE with Panhandle Mental Health Center as a Community Support Specialist. Community Support Specialists work with individuals suffering form severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse. We work the consumer to develop a treatment plan that identifies areas in the consumer's life that need intervention. Examples of the areas are: relapse prevention, interpersonal skills, life skills, housing, legal, marital/family, employment, mental health, resource acquisition, etc. It is our hope that, upon discharge, our consumers will be able to rely on informal support and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
