Careers in Psychology

Employment opportunities for people with graduate degrees in Psychology are expected to grow between 10% and 20% by 2010. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), "an undergraduate degree remains excellent preparation for continued graduate work in psychology or for another field, such as business, medicine, or computer science."

Internships

Psychology majors are required to complete 3 hours of internship, although more hours can count as electives. Internships help students to gain on-the-job experience in areas related to psychology. Student internships can be arranged in the Internship Office. The Internship office maintains a list of organizations currently looking for interns. In addition, they can work with you to set up an internship at a new internship site. Please contact the Internship Office to help you set up an internship.

Please note that the Internship Office is the first step in setting up an internship. The examples below are internships that students have completed in the past, and the groups or agencies represented may not currently be looking for interns.
