Head Coach

2010 - Terri Connealy, a Chadron resident and accomplished amateur golfer, is entering her first season as the women’s golf coach at Chadron State College.

She replaces Scott Simons, who served as the interim coach last season.

Connealy, who began playing golf as a junior in high school at Omaha Westside under her father’s tutelage, has plenty of experience on the course. She coached junior golf classes at Ridgeview Country Club in Chadron for 10 years and she has won several women’s club championships. She’s also competed in two-person and match play tournaments at the state level.

"To be able to coach these young women is a wonderful opportunity at this time of my life,” said Connealy, who is the director of youth ministry at St. Patrick’s Church in addition to her coaching duties. “I’m doing something I truly love and to share it with young people is fantastic.

“I’ve enjoyed the game of golf since I was young and I’ve continued to enjoy playing it with my family and friends. I hope to help these young women achieve that, as well.”

Connealy inherits an experienced team, consisting of three seniors and juniors. Two incoming freshmen also help add depth to the squad.

“I’m eager to see how the team does and I’m confident we’ll be competitive,” she said. “I really want to create competition within the team and have each girl earn her spot. A high level of competition is a good thing and it’s going to make us better.”

Helping assist Connealy will be her husband, Marty, a local attorney. The couple has been married 35 years and has five children and eight grandchildren. Their son Tim is entering his third season as the CSC women’s basketball coach.
