Current industry trends and career placement reports clearly reveal that the nutrition and foods areas will continue to see "strong employment opportunities" throughout the forseeable future (*USDA, 2005-2010). As U.S. consumers continue to eat several meals a week away from home and the consciousness of eating and living well continues to be a topic of concern, Nutrition & Foods professionals have opportunities to be a resource of increasing importance.

The Nutrition & Foods degree option is housed in the Family & Consumer Sciences program within the Applied Sciences Department at Chadron State College. The facilities in the Burkhiser Complex are specifically designed for this program and house a variety of laboratories, classrooms, and administrative facilities. On campus and/or community internships and employment opportunities are also available to round out the educational training.
