Non-Resident Scholars (NRS) Program and Legal Residency

These programs reduce the cost of out-of-state tuition to the in-state tuition level. Students taking online classes pay a flat-rate fee rather than in-state or out-of-state tuition.

Qualifications for New Students

Entering Freshmen

This program offers in-state tuition to new students who meet any one of the following qualifications:

No application is necessary for new students. However, a completed admission file is required. The deadline for acceptance is the last day of registration for the term.

College Transfers

Students must possess a 3.0 cumulative GPA at all colleges previously attended. No application is necessary for new students. However, a completed admission file is required. The deadline for acceptance is the last day of registration for the term.

Graduate Students

Students must possess a 3.5 cumulative GPA at all colleges previously attended. No application is necessary for new students. However, a completed admission file is required. The deadline for acceptance is the last day of registration for the term.

Current Student Eligibility

The GPAs of all students currently receiving the benefit of the NRS Program will have their GPAs verified at the end of each semester.

Students who were not eligible for NRS when first enrolling at CSC may become eligible by earning the requirements listed below.

Undergraduate

Students are permitted to continue receiving in-state tuition through graduation, provided they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students who do not maintain a 3.0 GPA will be charged out-of-state tuition until their cumulative GPA returns to a 3.0 or higher at which time their status will be automatically upgraded to NRS.

Graduate

Students are permitted to continue receiving in-state tuition through graduation, provided they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Students who do not maintain a 3.5 GPA will be charged out-of-state tuition until their cumulative GPA returns to a 3.5 or higher at which time their status will be automatically upgraded to NRS.
