Admissions Ambassador - Lisa
Name: Lisa Herbert
Major: Pre-Occupational Therapy
Home Town: Taylor, Neb.
High School: Loup County Public School
What attracted you to your major? I have always wanted to be able to help people. The most rewarding thing to me is to know that I have made a positive impact on someone’s life. CSC offers a pre-professional program that many colleges don’t have, so I am sure that I am on the right track to my future career.
What are you involved in on campus? I am currently in the Health Professions Club and I help out in the Admissions Department as a student ambassador. In the past I have been involved in Residence Life Association, which was a great way for me to have a say in what was happening in the dorms.
What is your favorite spot on campus? I have a lot of favorite spots but one that really comes to mind is the coffee shop in the basement of the library. I spend a lot of time in the library so the coffee shop is much appreciated when I need a little pick me up from studying!
What is your favorite class and why? I really love anatomy lab because you get hands-on experience not only with the models but also with the cadavers. It is really interesting and fun to learn about the human body especially when you have such good visuals.
What do you do in your free time? I love to work out at the activity center during my free time. Sometimes if I have an hour between classes I will run over there and jump on the elliptical. Working out is a great stress reliever and it’s a lot of fun at the PAC since there is a variety of athletic equipment to choose from. I spend a lot of my free time just hanging out with friends on campus. We like to support the Eagles by attending all of the athletic events on campus.
Why did you choose Chadron State College? CSC had the friendliest atmosphere of any of the colleges I visited during my senior year of high school. The campus attracted me not only because of its looks but also because of its size. I love that I can walk to each of my classes and it doesn’t take long to get from one end of the campus to the other.
